Jetstar has celebrated its 22nd birthday in unforgettable style, with a sky-high Shannon Noll lookalike flight.
The party flight hosted by the singer, was filled with giveaways, games, and more than 50 Shannon Noll lookalikes, marking the low-cost carrier’s first birthday party flight, and the first lookalike competition to take to the skies.
The flight paid tribute to stars of 2004, the year Jetstar first took to the skies in Australia and the same year Shannon Noll dominated the charts with What About Me. The occasion saw a standard trip from Sydney to Townsville turned into a nostalgic celebration with a live performance from the icon himself at 30,000 feet.
The sold-out flight followed a nationwide search for the best “Nollsie” launched in April, which saw Aussies submit their ultimate impersonation. The lucky winners were handpicked to join the birthday flight, continuing the celebrations on the ground in Townsville with three nights’ accommodation courtesy of The Ardo Hotel.

Shannon Noll, who hosted the one-of-a-kind flight, noted the synergy between his own career milestones and the airline’s history.
“I’ve played some pretty wild gigs in my time, but performing at 30,000 feet to a cabin full of passengers who look exactly like me is definitely a first,” he said.
“Jetstar and I both have something to look back on and celebrate, so it’s a massive honour to get the early-2000s gear back on and celebrate 22 years of low-fares flying with my favourite airline.”
The nostalgic birthday flight wrapped up in Townsville where a long-time fan was crowned the ultimate Shannon Noll lookalike after performing for the icon himself. Taking home the official title, a luxury stay in Townsville and a story to tell for years to come.
