Jetstar’s new direct flight between Sydney and Busselton, Western Australia, will launch tomorrow, Tuesday 26 March.
The launch of the new direct Sydney to Busselton service will connect east coast travellers to the stunning vineyards and coastline of Margaret River, the only premium wine region in Australia that combines world-class food and wine with pristine beaches, tall-timber forests, renowned surf breaks and ancient caves.
Busselton Jetty chief executive Lisa Shreeve told ABC she was, “singing and dancing” when the flights were announced in November last year.
“We’ve always known that Sydney’s a huge market for us. New South Wales is our number one interstate clientele, so it’s just great to get them here direct,” she said.
Western Australia easier than ever for agents
Travel agents can increasingly use Perth, as the Western gateway to Australia, to make new and exciting itineraries for clients thanks to new nonstop services including:
- Three new flights this week – Jetstar’s Sydney to Busselton, Airnorth’s Alice Springs to Perth as of today, 25 March and Thai Airways Bangkok-Perth direct flight from Sunday 31 March.
- Australia’s only direct flight connections with the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, through London, Rome, and the soon-to-launch direct connection with Paris.
New tourism products and experiences in the region:
- In the north of the Margaret River Region, Edge Luxury Villas at Springwater Estate started welcoming guests in December 2023. The four adults-only luxury villas are built over the property’s stunning lake, offering expansive and tranquil views from each of the villa’s private decks.
- The Busselton Pavilion opened its doors in early 2024, offering a new destination dining experience from award-winning WA hospitality stalwart John Parker from Parker Group and ex-Vasse Felix head chef Brendan Pratt the creative culinary director. It boasts a restaurant and bar, local wine store, providore and distillery.
- The longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere has welcomed 13 underwater sculptures, to create a sculpture trail and artificial reef at the end of the 1.8-kilometre icon in the Margaret River Region. This new addition to the Busselton Jetty is a submerged experience for divers, swimmers and snorkellers, while the sculptures create new habitat for local marine wildlife.
- In Busselton (Undalup), the highly anticipated Hilton Garden Inn Busselton opened its doors in February 2024, ideally located on the shores of Geographe Bay, in the north of the Margaret River Region. The five-storey property will offer 112 rooms, heated outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, and event space, and is located directly adjacent to Busselton Jetty, Shelter Brewing and recently reopened The Goose.
