Journey Beyond has appointed Cesar Piotto as executive general manager of its touring division, as the operator sharpens its focus on growth across land-based experiences.
Piotto confirmed the move in a LinkedIn update, revealing he stepped into the role last month and will lead the division overseeing Outback Spirit and Grand Pacific Tours.
“Not only do I get to lead two outstanding businesses, but I get to work with some great humans and reconnect with so many of my tourism whānau in NZ,” he said.
The appointment comes as Journey Beyond continues to grow its touring portfolio, bringing together its Australian and New Zealand brands under a more unified leadership structure.
Piotto added there is “heaps to do and a lot to learn” as he settles into the position, with plans to reconnect with industry partners at upcoming events including TECNZ, ATE and TRENZ later this year.
Journey Beyond operates a suite of experiential travel brands across rail, cruising and touring, including Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions, Cruise Whitsundays and Rottnest Express.
