Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa has so far clinched five prestigious awards in 2024, including being inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ at the World Spa & Wellness Awards in London.

Founders of the Koh Samui sanctuary and spa John and Karina Stewart expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the awards.

“We are profoundly honoured by this remarkable recognition from the wellness and travel industry. These awards are a testament to Kamalaya’s dedication to providing a sanctuary for holistic wellness and the transformative experiences that we strive to offer our guests. We are incredibly grateful to be acknowledged in such a significant way.”

The idea for Kamalaya was inspired by the 16 years John spent devoted to a life of service and spiritual studies in a Himalayan community and Karina’s 22 years in the study and practice of diverse Asian healing and spiritual traditions, including her background as a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine.

In 2023, Kamalaya’s accolades spanned across multiple platforms, including the renowned Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year at the World Spa & Wellness Awards, and the Top 10 Best Hotel Spas in Thailand at the Travel+Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific Event 2023.

Kamalaya was also honoured with the Kinnari Gold Award & Hall of Fame at the 2023 TAT Awards, organised by Thailand’s Tourism Authority (TAT), the Healing Hideaway category at the Tatler Spa Awards 2023 and named Wellness Retreat of the Year at the Destination Deluxe Awards 2023.

“These recognitions would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment and dedication of our entire team. It’s their hard work and passion for fostering an environment of healing and wellness that truly make Kamalaya the sanctuary it is,” Kamalaya General Manager Gopal Kumar said.

“On behalf of the management, I extend my deepest thanks to our exceptional team for their contribution to our continued success.”

The awards recognise Kamalaya’s continued aspiration to be a leader in the wellness industry, providing transformative health and wellness experiences for guests from around the globe. Kamalaya said the awards and recognition not only celebrate the sanctuary and spa’s past achievements but also pave the way for future innovation and excellence in holistic wellness and hospitality.
