Kelly Dickson will leave the Major Events division with Visit Victoria after five years in the lead role after deciding not to renew her contract.
“I’m most grateful to chief executive Brendan McClements, chair Andy Penn and former chair Janet Whiting for the opportunity, and hugely proud of what we’ve accomplished since 2021,” she posted on LinkedIn.
“The experience has been brilliant, my colleagues and partners in Australia and globally have been inspiring, insightful and great company, and we’ve delivered economic growth, tourism and international broadcast exposure, trade and community outcomes and some incredibly enriching experiences and lifelong memories.
“And there’s more to come. Over the next six months I will continue to advise Visit Victoria on priority event acquisitions, including our region’s first ever NFL Regular Season Game in September, taking some time out and considering what I would like to explore next.
Luke Murphy, who has taken up the role of acting director Major Events.
“Luke has played a big part in our success over the past five years, and I’m looking forward to working with Luke, Brendan and the team to ensure a smooth transition,” Dickson said.
