Boutique hotel collection Lancemore has announced a new Melbourne property will open early 2020.

Working with award-winning design firm Carr, Lancemore Crossley St. will be the seventh in the company’s portfolio following Lancemore Lindenderry Red Hill and Larmont Sydney by Lancemore.

Previously named Romeo Lane, the Crossley Street property aims to be “the pinnacle of Melbournian culture”, according to Lancemore.

The residence is centrally located between the Paris end of Bourke Street, Theatre District, which is home to restaurants such as Gingerboy, Becco and Pellegrinis, and the sights and sounds of Chinatown.

The hotel is currently undergoing a $10 million transformation, with its interiors reimagined by Carr, whose design portfolio also includes hotels Jackalope Mornington Peninsula and United Places Botanic Gardens.

The hotel will feature five room types for guests to choose from, with walls hanging bespoke commissions from emerging artists, and a “quintessentially-Melbourne” rooftop terrace boasting city skyline views, according to Lancemore.

Guests can choose whether to retreat to one of the calm 113 private rooms on offer or experience the program of public spaces.

Creative agency Projects of Imagination has been engaged to oversee the Lancemore Group rebrand and all the brand touchpoints for Crossley St, with the aim for the property to connect with customers on every level. This includes overseeing music, room books, room fragrance and in-room collateral with bespoke illustrations by Alice Lindstrom.
