Departures at Melbourne Airport’s domestic terminal were put on hold for a period this morning after a security incident at the passenger screening area.
A bag containing a laptop went through the screening area unchecked, due to human error at around 6.30 Monday morning.
As a result, airport security had to use CCTV to track down the passenger and rescreen the bag.
Security in the terminal affected is operated by Qantas, and screening was paused for around 30 minutes while the passenger was located.
The backlog cleared and processing returned to normal by 8.30 am.
No other terminals or airlines were impacted.
