Australian travel advisors were given a rare opportunity last week to connect directly with some of the world’s most prestigious independent hotels, as The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) hosted an exclusive trade event and roadshow in Australia.
Opening the evening, director of travel trade APAC (excluding China), Tim Chatfield, set the tone with a warm welcome and a focus on partnership.
Introducing the senior hoteliers and partners in the room, he stressed the importance of the Australian market for LHW’s global portfolio.
“These are the people who make it possible for us to create incredible stays for your clients. We’re thrilled they’ve come all the way here to meet you,” he said.
Chatfield personally acknowledged a line-up of key representatives, including:
- Althoff Villa Belrose
- Avant Mar Hotel & Suites
- Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez
- Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne
- Halekulani Okinawa
- Hotel Okura Amsterdam
- Hotel Sacher Wien
- Palace Hotel Tokyo
- Savoy Signature
- The Dolder Grand
- The Okura Tokyo
- Vila Vita Parc
Chatfield highlighted the strength of the Leading Hotels of the World network and the role of Australian agents in driving high-value outbound travel across Asia and Europe.
He referenced the group’s Leading Advisors program, recognising the volume of communication agents receive but framing it as a sign of commitment.

“You probably get an incredible amount of emails from us,” he admitted, “but that’s because we’re working hard with you, and for you, to make sure your clients get extraordinary experiences with our hotels.”
The evening featured generous giveaways, including multiple nights’ accommodation at some of the luxury properties.
For Australian travel agents, the roadshow offered not just prizes, but practical product knowledge, direct access to decision-makers, and fresh inspiration for high-end itineraries featuring LHW’s distinctive, independently owned properties.
