This week, Club Med’s trade marketing manager convinced us to follow Chris Hemsworth’s new wellness app. To be honest, she had us at Chris Hemsworth.

What are you reading?

Any Ordinary Day by Leigh Sales. It’s all about discovering how people have overcome huge adversities and tragedies – a very fitting and humbling topic to cover in today’s times.

What are you watching?

Sooo much streaming on Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime, ABC iView, and Foxtel. I’m really loving Killing Eve, The Commons, Outlander, The Boys, and (like everyone else) Tiger King.

What are you listening to?

Podcasts mostly, but also meditation music, which is totally new for me, but I’m loving it!

Podcasts I’d recommend are The Quicky, Science Vs, Dying for Sex, Just the Gist, Download this Show, Little Green Pod, Mamamia Outloud, Hack, KIC Pod, The Daily and Shameless.

What are you cooking?

Trying to make things from scratch. The latest thing I’ve tried is my own pasta sauce(this guy inspired me). It also means I’m not contributing to the hoarding problem.

How are you staying fit both physically and mentally?

Following Chris Hemsworth on his Centr app every day, and also doing more yoga and evening meditation from the Calm app.

What’s the one thing keeping you sane?

Morning walks with my friend up the road to get my coffee to start my day.

What’s something positive you’ve witnessed or experienced since the coronavirus hit?

The resilence and comradery of my colleagues that make up the travel industry. I love that so many people have rushed to help each other, stayed positive and created communities.

What have you learned about yourself amid the crisis?

I’m not very good at skipping (yes, the type with the rope), I am happiest when I’m busy, I now seem to love exercising before work, and I miss travelling SO BLOODY MUCH!

What’s your advice for others in the travel industry on coping with the crisis?

Keep your head up, keep connected and reach out to your loved ones.

You learn so much about yourself when faced with adversity, and it’s in these times we discover not just how resourceful and resilient we are, but also see clearly the things that are most important to you.

Take it day by day and look for a bit of light wherever its available.
