The CEO of Luna Park Sydney John Hughes took to the stage at TTF’s Outlook Tourism Conference at The Crown yesterday to reveal a string of new attractions.
Hughes explained that Luna Park Sydney has undergone a significant transformation over the past two years. It is now focusing on understanding the park’s foundations and DNA, including its connection to the artistic community.
New immersive experiences are being introduced as the amusement park expands its content pipeline and deepens its relations with creative minds in the industry.
“Today I’m excited to share that we have a few media announcements and it’s the first time we are sharing them outside of the organisation,” Hughes told the audience. “These are three new experiences that are coming to Luna Park over the coming months.”
The first is “DJ Dorothy brought to us by The Wiggles sound system” he said, adding that the family rave room at Crystal Palace will be taken over by DJ Dorothy’s album: Rave of Innocence.
The Wiggles Soundsystem: Rave of Innocence has been a huge hit since its release – securing the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Australian Dance Album Chart.
“That’s only about a month away from taking over from Sonic Neon in Sydney’s Crystal Palace,” Hughes explained.
The second is “Lite Bright – Words of Wonder” an immersive experience based on the Hasbro game of the same name.
“Hasbro partnered with an Emmy-award-winning production studio in Toronto, and they’re just released [the experience] in Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Toronto. We’re bringing that to Sydney in a couple of months’ time.”
The third is one that will be particularly interesting to parents of pre-school children, Hughes said – revealing a partnership with Vegesaur. Vegesaur is currently the second most-popular preschool show for children, second only to Bluey.
“We’re going to bring the Vegesaur Valley to life in a new world-first experience,” he said.
Hughes said that the younger generations are craving unique experiences.
“We know that globally, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha are craving friendly, highly social, highly engaging digital experiences.”
