Luxury Escapes has launched its first new Taiwan tour in six years, unveiling a 13-day guided journey for 2027 departures as bookings for the destination surge.

Taiwan booking orders have jumped 53 per cent year-on-year, prompting the luxury travel company to roll out the new itinerary, which runs the length of the island from Taipei to Sun Moon Lake, the dramatic east coast, and the southern cities of Tainan and Kaohsiung.

Highlights include a ride on the Breezy Blue coastal sightseeing train from Kaohsiung to Taitung, Raohe Night Market, Kavalan Distillery, a tea plantation tour, Anping Old Fort and Taipei’s National Palace Museum.

Luxury Escapes CEO and co-founder Adam Schwab said Taiwan was ticking every box for travellers looking beyond Japan and South Korea.

“It has visa-free entry for Australian passport holders, incredible street food, remarkably welcoming cities, breathtaking mountain scenery and dramatic coastlines, all wrapped up in a destination that still feels wonderfully authentic and relatively undiscovered,” he said.

Taiwan has welcomed more than 4.5 million international visitors so far this year, according to Taiwan Tourism Association data.

“We think it’s only a matter of time before Taiwan becomes one of Australia’s favourite destinations,” Schwab said.

The five-star itinerary includes stays at the Fleur de Chine Hotel on Sun Moon Lake, Le Méridien Hualien and Sheraton Taitung Hotel, plus meals at Din Tai Fung’s Taipei 101 flagship and Tainan’s Du Hsiao Yueh.

Prices start from $6,185 per person, on sale now through luxuryescapes.com and travel agents.
