Malaysia welcomes flocks of tourists

Malaysia has recorded a total of 6,482,696 tourist arrivals from January through to March 2015.

This number, although slightly less than the same period during Visit Malaysia Year 2014, is on par with 2013, even with substantial flooding affecting some parts of the country in early January.

Tourism Malaysia’s promotional efforts, in combination with the celebration of 2015 Malaysian Year of Festivals, have contributed to solid tourism figures for the first quarter of the year.

Malaysia is a holiday destination packed with experiences from sandy beaches to UNESCO World Heritage sites, eclectic cities to abundant rainforests.

Australians continued to be among Malaysia’s top 10 tourist-generating markets for the quarter.

“Malaysia remains one of the safest, most politically stable and value-for-money destinations in South East Asia right now. With unparalleled diversity in terms of our tourism offering, we can accommodate just about every type of traveller, including families, sun-seekers, honeymooners and adventure lovers. Plus we are not much further away than Bali,” Tourism Malaysia’s Sydney director, Roslan Abdullah said.
