Today, in what NOT to do at Disney World, we bring you reports of a man who blew almost $20,000 on a trip to the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ after getting kicked out for refusing a temperature check.

Fort-seven-year-old Louisiana man Kelly Sills was charged with trespassing after skipping a temperature check and refusing to go back or leave the theme park in early February.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Sills was confronted by Disney World security guards outside the Boathouse restaurant.

Body camera footage from the Orange County Sheriff’s office showed the park’s security manager saying “He’s going to have to go for the day” after Sills argued with him.

“For what reason?” Sills said.

“Sir, it’s private property,” a police officer said. “You’re officially being trespassed.”

“I spent US$15,000,” he argued.

“All you had to do was get temperature checked. That’s it!” a person can be heard saying off-screen.

“I paid US$15,000. You can’t trespass me for paying US$15,000,” Sills said.

“If I take US$15,000 from you, I can’t kick you out… Bring me to jail for US$15,000, I’m fine… In front of my kids, too, at Disney World.”

The footage showed Sills changed his mind at the last minute and asked to have his temperature checked.

“They’ll do that in jail, sir,” a police officer said.

“Well, that’s good,” Sills replied.

According to Traveller, the arrest took place on the first day of what was to be a five-day trip with his family.

Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger told the Orlando Sentinel that most guests followed Disney World’s strict mask, social distancing and temperature check requirements.

“Millions of guests visit our theme parks each year, and in rare instances when things of this nature occur, we hold them accountable,” Finger said.
