Marriott International has revealed plans to open 14 additional luxury properties in APAC by the end of next year.

The planned additions highlight the growth of the brand’s luxury hotel portfolio in the region, where it currently operates 156 luxury properties.

The hotel giant’s playful, destination-led brand W Hotels will open its highly anticipated hotel at ‘The Ribbon’ in Darling Harbour next year followed by an expansion into Macau.

The Ritz-Carlton brand is set to open properties in Fukuoka, Melbourne and Jiuzhaigou in 2023, while St. Regis is slated to debut its avant-garde style in Goa and Jakarta.

The wellbeing-led JW Marriott brand will open JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites by the end of 2022 alongside JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa, and for 2023, JW Marriott Goa Vagator and JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an and EDITION is slated to expand in 2023 with The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza and The Singapore EDITION.

Meanwhile, travellers to Tokyo will soon be able to experience the timeless heritage of Italian brand Bulgari with the opening of Bulgari Hotel Tokyo in 2023 featuring 98 luxurious guestrooms including a lavish Bulgari Suite and the brand’s renowned dining venues such as il Ristorante Niko Romito and Hoseki Restaurant.

“Today’s luxury traveller is looking for authentic experiences that are personalized, thoughtful and uniquely meaningful,” said Bart Buiring, Marriott’s chief sales and marketing officer for APAC.

“Our current portfolio of highly distinctive brands is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of travellers, and these expected additions reflect our optimism for the future of luxury travel.”
