Meliá Hotels International has unveiled two ultra-exclusive journeys to mark its 70th anniversary, offering what it describes as the world’s most luxurious front-row seat to next month’s total solar eclipse.
The Spanish hotel group’s experiences, based across Mallorca and Menorca, coincide with the total solar eclipse on 12 August, with the Balearic Islands set to be among the few places in the world where the event will be fully visible.
The timing also holds special significance for Meliá. Founded in Mallorca in 1956, the hotel group is returning to its roots seven decades on, marking the islands that shaped its vision of Spanish hospitality.
The experience is available exclusively at Hotel de Mar Gran Meliá in Mallorca and Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá in Menorca, with each property limited to a single booking — meaning just two parties worldwide will have the chance to witness the eclipse through the offering.
Starting from €200,000, each bespoke, fully customisable journey includes:
- Private jet travel from anywhere in Europe to the Balearic Islands
- Private transfers throughout the experience
- Four nights in each hotel’s most prestigious suite category, including the Presidential Suite
- A private eclipse viewing at sea, aboard a Rivamare yacht in Mallorca or a traditional llaüt in Menorca
- Curated dining, wellness and destination experiences inspired by the culture, gastronomy and laid-back elegance of the Mediterranean
Each itinerary has been designed to reflect the character of its island setting.
