The challenge for the industry is….branding in the internet era is a challenge as there are so many communication channels and media consumption is very fragmented.

The things I like about my job are…the brand and the people. I’m part of a great team and having been here a while I’ve gotten to know most of the franchisees in the network.

And the frustrations…talking about a resilient industry. It would be good if we could go a year without some major crisis. Uneventful would be good.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be a….I’ve already worked in my favourite industries – books and travel. I’d probably have to go into the liquor industry next!

Qantas or Virgin?….Qantas.

My proudest moment was….I jumped off Sky Tower in Auckland last year, that was a rush. Personally though it would be the days the kids were born, that’s even more of a rush.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…I’m always on my best behaviour, but there was that time in Fiji in the bar.…

I try to relax by…mainly family stuff, school sports, socialising. I’m always planning family holidays, it’s almost as good as going.

The last time I feared for my life…that would have been when I was on top of SkyTower.

If I can, I always try to avoid…meetings.

I really wish I had…learnt the guitar. I got one for my 40th so that’s my next goal.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…take things seriously, always do the right thing for the right reason and make sure you have lots of fun along the way.

I don’t understand why…I never make it onto the outstanding leave balance list.

My greatest weakness is….typos. I’m not the greatest proof reader in the world.

And my greatest strength…think positively and always look at new creative ways of doing things.

If I was prime minister I would…fix the Pacific Hwy, make education free, build new hospitals (should be pretty popular).

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would….live the dream, two Porsches and a nice long holiday.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be…riding Black Caviar to victory.

I’ve always wanted to travel to….India and South America, I’ll get there.

My favourite holiday was…our last trip. I took the family to South Africa on safari in April. My next favourite, will be our next holiday.
