The challenge for the industry is… to drive sales based on real value as opposed to a price driven market.

The things I like about my job are… working with a creative, innovative and fun bunch of people.

And the frustrations… not enough time in the day to be more creative and innovative.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be a…. vegetable grower and deliver free to anyone in need.

Qantas or Virgin?… Virgin

My proudest moment was… as an Intrepid leader in India, seeing the reaction to the country’s many facets on the faces of my travellers.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… too naughty to say!

I try to relax by… having at least one week a year on a tropical beach, pottering in my garden, reading, a glass of wine or two.

The last time I feared for my life… Tropical North Queensland, on discovering that recent sightings of crocodiles near swimming spots meant we could not freely swim in the open ocean.

If I can, I always try to avoid… queues.

I really wish I had… spent more time in Central America. I will add it to my travel list for the future to go back and explore more.

The best advice I’ve ever received was… life is short – enjoy.

I don’t understand why… we can’t all see refugee status in a more positive light.

My greatest weakness is… dark chocolate, tim tams and wine – not necessarily together.

And my greatest strength… passion for and knowledge of the travel industry.

If I was prime minister I would… make everyone share the wealth.

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… spread it around and invest in travel for life.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… Mahatma Gandhi and inspire non-violence, civil rights and freedom.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Botswana – it is on my travel agenda for 2013.

My favourite holiday was… I have two favourites for very different reasons, – for pure relaxation, it was a week a couple of years ago on Lombok and for the excitement of a completely different world, my India holidays are always a great time.
