This week, we dragged Oceania Cruises’ business development manager, Martine Nunes, away for a secret chat. Although that’s not to say we physically forced her.

The challenge for the industry is…

Demands, expectations, trends, the fast pace – today’s activity can, at times, already be history.

The things I like about my job…

All the fantastic people in our industry, our shared passion for travel, and who doesn’t like a holiday?

And the frustrations are…

Driving in Sydney traffic, wasted hours of the day.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

Kicking myself that I wasn’t.

Favourite airline?

Qantas for international flights; it’s great to hear an Aussie accent on the return flight home.

My proudest moment was…

Becoming a Mum.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

I’m a rules girl… “what goes on tour, stays on tour”.

I try to relax by…

I’m a parent with two young kids, ask me again in 10 years?

The last time I feared for my life was…

Sitting under a table amongst an earthquake in New Zealand.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Being unorganised.

I really wish I had…

A helicopter to transport me around Sydney – I’d have qualilty hours to enjoy.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Always think of the present and future, yourself and those around you.

I don’t understand why people…

Can’t put a smile on their face.

My greatest weakness is…

I can get sea sick (go figure), but it doesn’t stop me from cruising!

And my greatest strength is…

Positive people around me

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Like most, pay off a mortgage and set my kids up for a head start in the future.

If I was prime minister I would…

Insist long term planning and common sense is enforced – abolish all the toe stepping and make sure election promises are delivered– procrastination costs everyone!

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…

My kids – relive the brilliance of boundless energy, the innocence and fun of being a child.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Eygpt.

My favourite holiday was…

My first trip to Europe.
