This week, supplier relations executive Sandra Reucker took us to Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, where we took this pic of her. Fine, she emailed us the photo with her answers.

The challenge for the industry is…

In relation to my role in a former life, it would be wonderful if airfare rules were simpler to follow, so that travel agents need never again fear the dreaded ADMs.

The things I like about my job…

Getting to work every day with a brilliant bunch of people – the team in the National Partnership Office and our amazing network of personal travel managers.

And the frustrations are…

My role often requires a certain level of juggling and negotiating, pulling together the various elements required to create a successful famil.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

Working with animals.

Favourite airline?

I know it’s ironic given my choice of career, but I’m a bit of a nervous flyer so my favourite airline is one that’s safely on the ground.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

When I was in high school, a friend and I borrowed their parent’s car without them knowing. We went for a spin down the road then crashed it down a hill.

Sometimes, I’m just thankful I made it to adulthood.

I try to relax by…

Spending time with friends and family, generally where food is involved.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Once on an evening flight from AKL to BNE, the plane suffered a lightning strike that was clearly audible from inside the plane.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

The window seat.

I really wish I had…

Learnt to ride a bike.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Always be true to yourself.

I don’t understand why people…

Insist on trying to pass off larger items of luggage as carry-on, then take up all the overhead bin space so there’s no room for anyone else.

My greatest weakness is…

Overpacking.

And my greatest strength is…

Not taking myself too seriously.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Buy some land and build a home.

If I was prime minister I would…

Not be getting too comfortable.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Italy.

My favourite holiday was…

A girls’ trip to the US.
