Dreamed of joining the ‘club’? Get the MileHi app first.
There’s Tinder taking the trouble out of arranging land-based dates, so why not MileHi for removing the awkwardness of hitting on the dude sitting in 31B?
According to TravelPulse, CNN reports of a new aptly named app, MileHi which helps passengers connect before, during or after a journey – whether for business networking or to simply just to check out flying counterparts.
“Whether you want to uncover business networking opportunities, start the party early or just have a nosey at who’s flying you can quickly search and browse fellow flyers,” the website states.
Apparently in just two weeks since its launch, the app has already had 3000 downloads despite its creator, Richard Lloyd insisting it is not a Tinder for the Sky.
“MileHi is a very good name; it’s very catchy,” he told CNN.
“Obviously it’s got a connotation, but the idea of the app was really around business or networking, not dating.”
The connotation is fairly assumed after we discover passengers can track each other via flight number, and can chat via private messages or in a group forum.
“There’s a huge global exhibition conference circuit that people go around,” Lloyd told CNN.
“There’s also a lot of sporting events that this app could be relevant to, like when people are flying together to World Cup finals or European Cups. People can talk about sharing a taxi at the other end.”
Err, sure. We’re not convinced.
