Millennium Hotels and Resorts New Zealand has appointed Pat Monneron as general sales agent (GSA) for the Australian market.
Monneron said that the timing of his appointment is particularly exciting as market conditions encourage trans-Tasman travel.
“Geopolitical shifts and a favourable exchange rate are likely to drive increased demand from Australians choosing New Zealand for both leisure and business travel,” he said.
“Millennium Hotels and Resorts is exceptionally well-placed to capture that demand, and I’m looking forward to connecting the group with the right corporate partners, TMCs and professional conference organisers to make the most of that opportunity.”
Monneron brings more than 30 years of experience in global travel distribution, corporate account management, leisure and MICE development.
He has held senior roles across leading brands such as Accor, Mirvac Hotels and Resorts, Radisson Hotels and Resorts, Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, Mandala Hotels and Tourism Western Australia.
In 2013, Monneron established his own firm, Elite Representation Asia Pacific, offering regional sales, marketing representation and strategic support for tourism boards, destination management companies and the hotel industry.

In his new role, Monneron will also represent Millennium at key industry events including Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) and Festival of Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit (FACTS).
With a focus on corporate travel, he will work in close collaboration with airline partners to develop end-to-end travel solutions for group and incentive clients.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts New Zealand vice president of sales & partnerships, Melanie Beattie said deep knowledge of and long-standing relationships across the Australian market make him an outstanding representative for the company.
“His appointment strengthens our ability to engage directly with the TMC community, professional conference organisers, and corporate travel buyers who are looking for New Zealand’s best hotel experiences,” she said.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts owns and operates 19 hotels across New Zealand.
