Moama Lights, the spectacular regional light show, is now open every weekend until 28 July and allows guests to immerse themselves in this year’s theme: “Enchanted Nights: A Celebration of Light”.
The light show is inspired by Banjo Paterson’s evocative poem The Daylight is Dying the light displays have been designed and produced by the world-class design studio MandyLights. It takes guests to a vibrant, illuminated world that captures the essence of the night-time ecosystem and the natural elements that come to life after dusk.
This year’s event highlights the mysteries of the bushland with features like illuminated ripples dancing on the water’s surface and projections of children’s artworks spread across the lagoon. Spectacular Indigenous artworks by First Nations artist Warrick Keen and the brilliant contemporary Yorta Yorta artist Alkina Edwards also light up the region.
Mayor Frank Crawley said this year’s event is not to be missed.
“The 2024 event celebrates the wonders of nature through an ever-changing display of captivating colors, spectacular sounds, and amazing local art,” he said.
“We are delighted to welcome both locals and visitors to the region once again.”
The event is likely to sell out, so guests are encouraged to secure tickets ahead of time.
