Qantas has introduced Qantas Economy Plus, a new seating option designed to give your customers an even more comfortable way to fly in Economy.

Now available to book, Qantas Economy Plus combines up to 40 per cent more legroom, priority boarding and priority access to overhead lockers, bringing even more comfort when flying in Economy.

The first flights featuring Qantas Economy Plus took off from 6 February on Airbus A321XLR, A220 and Boeing 737 aircraft. The product is available across Qantas’ domestic network and on popular short haul international routes, including New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Bali, providing you with a new option to tailor seating to customer preferences.

Qantas Economy Plus will also expand to the Airbus A330 fleet later this year, covering more international routes, including destinations across Asia.

Qantas Domestic CEO Markus Svensson said Qantas Economy Plus would deliver additional flexibility for customers and benefits for Qantas Frequent Flyers when travelling.

“Qantas Economy Plus brings together extra legroom, priority boarding and priority access to overhead bin space; all the elements we know make a real difference to our customers when flying.

“We’ve seen strong interest in Qantas Economy Plus from customers already, and we know it will be a great benefit for both our business and leisure travellers.”

Rollout across the fleet Qantas Economy Plus seat availability varies by aircraft type, with the Flying Kangaroo’s 737 fleet reconfigured to offer 48 seats in the forward and mid-cabin areas, the A220 offering 20 seats, and the A321XLR providing 36 seats in select zones.

Looking ahead, Qantas Economy Plus will expand to the airline’s Airbus A330 fleet from mid 2026, extending the new seating option across more international routes, including destinations across Asia. This expansion will create additional opportunities to offer comfort and convenience on longer haul journeys for your customers.
