Moreton Bay region is just up the road from Brisbane and is home to a range of events popular with locals and travellers alike, with a few key dates set for 2025.
Moreton Kids Festival – Sunday 9 March
The Moreton Kids Festival takes place at Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine. The event is designed for families and children, offering a full day of activities, entertainment, and attractions. The program typically includes live performances, interactive workshops, educational exhibits, and play zones. It aims to engage children of all ages, providing an opportunity for families to explore creativity, learning, and play in a community-focused environment. Food stalls and market vendors will also be on hand to cater for all taste buds.
Moreton Bay PrideFest– Saturday 14 June
The Moreton Bay PrideFest takes place at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine. This annual celebration aligns with World Pride Month, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality within the community. The event features live entertainment, market stalls, food trucks, and a family-friendly atmosphere. PrideFest aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, allies, and families to connect, celebrate, and advocate for social progress.
Abbey Medieval Festival – Saturday and Sunday 12 to 13 July
This year, the Abbey Medieval Festival returns to the Abbey Museum in Caboolture. Renowned as the southern hemisphere’s largest medieval re-enactment event, the festival offers an immersive experience into medieval history.
Visitors can expect jousting tournaments, live re-enactments, medieval markets, and artisan displays. The event also includes activities such as archery, falconry demonstrations, and storytelling. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period costumes to fully embrace the medieval spirit.
Jetty 2 Jetty Half Marathon & Fun Run – Sunday 20 July
Known as Queensland’s longest-running fun run, the event is calling on applications for its first ever marathon. For non-marathon runners, there is a half marathon, 10km, 10km wheelchair, 5km, and 3km races. The course winds along the scenic Redcliffe Peninsula, providing runners with picturesque coastal views. Next year will mark 40 years of the event which has evolved over the years to now attract runners from around Australia.
Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival 2025 – 22 to 24 August
The festival showcases local and regional produce, wines, and culinary talent. Attendees can enjoy food tastings, wine pairings, cooking demonstrations, and live music performances. The festival will feature themed areas, including seafood, desserts, and a craft beer garden. With activities for both adults and families, the event highlights Moreton Bay’s vibrant food culture and its connection to the region’s coastal identity.
Redcliffe KiteFest – Saturday and Sunday 20 to 21 September
Redcliffe KiteFest is a family-friendly event featuring professional kite displays, kids’ activities, market stalls, and live entertainment. With plenty of food vendors and a buzzing atmosphere, this event is perfect for soaking up the Moreton Bay breeze while enjoying stunning aerial art.
