MSC Cruises has brought MSC Grandiosa back to sea after a short Christmas pause.

The line’s flagship returned to sailing in mid-August and since then has welcomed over 30,000 guests, including many European travel agents, on board its two ships based out of Italy.

Following the latest ministerial decree issued by the Italian government and related updated health measures, MSC Grandiosa resumed her planned weekly cruises leaving every Sunday from Genoa, Italy and calling the other Italian ports of Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples and Palermo, as well as Valetta in Malta. Embarkation is available from each port in Italy.

The feedback has been extremely positive, with agents describing their experience as ‘impressive’ and saying that they felt ‘very safe,’ thanks to the protocols.

The cruise experience has been preserved so that guests and agents alike can enjoy life on board, whether that is watching one of the productions in the theatre, dining in the many different restaurants, relaxing in the spa, or simply strolling down the promenade while enjoying the different shops and boutiques.

“I recommend a cruise to everyone. Cruise, cruise, cruise on board MSC Cruises!” one of the agents emphatically stated.

The latest ministerial decree authorised the resumption of cruise operations under the protection of the unique health and safety protocol that had been developed with and authorised by the Italian health, transport and safety authorities last summer.

During the Christmas and end-of-year festivities through to the issuance of the latest ministerial decree, Italy-based cruise operations were temporarily suspended due to the restrictive measures related to movement within the country set forth by the local authorities.
