A new site has been announced for an integrated resort and casino on the Gold Coast after Queensland’s new Labor Government earlier this year knocked back plans for a cruise ship terminal as part of the development.
Chinese developer ASF Consortium had planned to build on Wavebreak Island and include a cruise ship terminal, but State Development Minister Anthony Lynham on Tuesday announced the new site would be a five hectare block near Sea World.
“I know that the Gold Coast has been waiting on this news, but its been important to get this right,” Dr Lynham said.
