The New Zealand International Convention Centre will open on 11 February 2026, marking a major milestone for the city of Auckland and New Zealand in general.
“We can’t wait to welcome guests through the NZICC doors from Wednesday 11 February 2026,” SkyCity CEO Jason Walbridge said. “With more than 100 events confirmed for 2026, the NZICC is a powerful investment into New Zealand’s future, creating opportunities for local businesses, generating jobs for our wider community and elevating Auckland’s event capabilities on a world stage.”
“We look forward to celebrating this milestone with a series of special events during the first few weeks – from a dawn blessing and a spectacular showcase of the building and its world-class food and beverage, to a live concert and a public open day for everyone to enjoy,” NZICC general manager Prue Daly said.
Located in the heart of Tamaki Makaurau Auckland, the NZ$750 million (around AU$657m), purpose-built centre is set to reshape New Zealand’s business events landscape. Built to full International Convention Centre standards and carrying the FernMark (New Zealand’s global symbol of trust and quality), the NZICC offers world-class facilities with capacity to host more than 4,000 delegates across its event spaces.
Designed to host everything from major international summits and trade exhibitions to cultural showcases, concerts and intimate board meetings, the centre features 33 meeting spaces and a 2,850-seat theatre. The layout and technology systems allow for seamless transitions between events, enabling the NZICC to support multiple large-scale gatherings simultaneously.
Launching with a vibrant lineup of international and domestic conferences, concerts, and exhibitions, the NZICC acts as a gateway to Auckland’s city centre, just steps away from luxury accommodation, award-winning dining and premier retail precincts.
