The $28 million, 108-room boutique Mantra Richmont Hotel opened today in Spring Hill in Brisbane.

The city’s latest new build four-star property was officially opened by Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events, the Honourable Kate Jones MP, and the Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Graham Quirk.

The hotel is managed by leading Australian-based hotel and resort operator Mantra Group and is the first project undertaken in Australia by Malaysian-based developers Richmont Holdings.

The grand opening event saw industry and media entertained by traditional Malaysian dragon dancers where Mantra Group Chief Executive Officer Bob East and Richmont Holdings Managing Director Gregory Loh also cut the ribbon in the official opening.

The new property reaffirms Mantra Group’s status as Queensland’s largest hotel and resort operator, with more than 10,000 rooms in 55 properties throughout the state.

Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Graham Quirk said the property “not only showcase the heritage of the area, but also provides another contemporary offering for the people of Brisbane and all who choose to visit.”

Honourable Kate Jones MP added that now was the perfect time to invest in Queensland and in Brisbane with more than $12 billion in new tourism infrastructure in the pipeline in Queensland.

Mantra Group Chief Executive Officer Bob East said they were proud to be involved with this property.
