The major airlines say rolling strikes at Australia’s international airports have had no impact on operations.
Disruptions had been expected at airports nationwide as workers, including Customs and Border Protection staff, took industrial action over cuts to their pay and conditions.
But Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar said there were no flight delays as a result of strike action on Monday morning.
However, further industrial action was planned for later in the day.
Travellers have been advised to arrive early for their flights.
The Community and Public Sector Union says affected workers face losing up to $8000 in allowances from their take home pay, money that is meant to compensate them for long hours, unusual shifts, dangerous work and weeks spent away from family.
Workers from the Agriculture Department’s quarantine section will also participate in industrial action along with the Australian Border Force marine unit, which will undertake port bans on loading and unloading stores.
Workers in national security, counter-terrorism and specialist biosecurity hazard role are not taking part in the action.
