Norwegian Cruise Line Holding will transition its Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands to its new Asia Pacific headquarters in Sydney to further capitalise on the burgeoning local cruise sector.

Norwegian established the new office late last year, transferring its local business from Star Cruises, with Steve Odell taking on the role of managing director Asia Pacific.

The new integration includes all sales and marketing functions and the establishment of a multi-lingual regional contact centre based in Sydney CBD.

“Having successfully transitioned our Norwegian Cruise Line business from Star Cruises in December 2015 we are now entering the second phase of our corporate office establishment,” Odell said.

“With a burgeoning demand for luxury cruising in the region we will be investing additional resources to ensure that we remain in the market leading position.”

Odell confirmed that staff recruitment and training is now underway, with technological solutions implemented to ensure a “smooth and seamless” transition from long-term partners Wiltrans and The Cruise Office in Australia and Cruise Holidays in New Zealand.

Until the transition is complete, it remains “business as usual” with NCLH “collaborating” with its GSAs, he confirmed.

Oceania Cruises will introduce the new ship Sirena in April 2016. This will be followed by the launch of Regent Seven Seas Explorer.
