Sydney’s most notorious party boat, Seadeck, has entered into administration, with debts of up to $14 million.
According to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, Seadeck’s parent company was placed into administration on 3 March and has been placed in the hands of Condon Associates.
Loved by Sydney socialites and crime figures alike, the 42-metre venue was capable of hosting 420 guests over three decks boasting a 360-degree view of Sydney Harbour.
Among its loyal patrons was convicted drug lord Michael Ibrahim who, according to The Daily Telegraph, booked the entire venue on occasion.
Police phone taps even revealed Ibrahim wanted to take ownership of Seadeck, with help from the Nomads bikie gang.
The Nibbler has contacted Condon Associates and is yet to receive a response. However, according to an administrators’ report seen by The Daily Telegraph, the company’s problems stemmed from a legal tussle between the three companies that own Seadeck as well as COVID-19 restrictions.
The row revolves around one company’s failure to gain licensing for 800 people to attend the venue.
The charter boat is reportedly docked at Cockatoo Island, where its owners owed $222,242 in unpaid fees.
The Nibbler has approached Seadeck for comment.
