While Aussie travellers can’t take a holiday to Thailand just yet, that doesn’t mean travel agents should put off educating themselves about the popular Asian destination.

In fact, now is the perfect time for agents to get better acquainted with Thailand so that when Australia’s international border reopens, they can hit the ground running.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has created an online training course to provide Australian and New Zealand agents with all the knowledge they need to confidently sell (and upsell) their clients unforgettable trips to the ‘Land of Smile’.

The course aims to help agents learn more about Thailand’s regions, including things to see and do, tips, itineraries, as well as keep them updated on the destination’s latest news while in lockdown.

There are eight modules for agents to complete, with each module offering incentives and rewards to those who achieve the highest score and finish quickest, including gift vouchers and care packs. Winners of each module will be announced every fortnight.

Agents who complete all eight modules will receive an Amazing Thailand Specialist certificate and the chance to win luxury hotel vouchers in Thailand. Winners of these prizes will be announced at the end of the campaign.

TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, said: “We are taking this opportunity to upskill and retrain all our partners, all stakeholders and everyone involved about the new normal of the tourism industry which we are facing now, not only from the demand, but also from the supply side.

“We’d still be using core assets such as our beautiful culture, fabulous Thai food, warm hospitality, wonderful beaches and, most of all, our people – Thai people.”

Those keen on becoming an Amazing Thailand Specialist and going into the running for some sweet, sweet prizes can register here.

And, of course, terms and conditions apply (you can view those here).
