Oman Air has rolled out a new mixed cabin fare structure aimed at delivering a more affordable pathway into Business Class travel for Australian passengers heading to Europe.

The new fares are now live in global distribution systems (GDS), with return pricing starting from $3,720 ex Sydney to Europe, positioning the product as a mid-tier option between premium economy and full Business Class.

The airline says the refreshed structure is designed to make mixed cabin itineraries easier for agents to sell while giving travellers access to Business Class comfort on long-haul sectors without paying the full premium fare.

Return fares to the Middle East start from $3,102 ex Perth, while Sydney–Europe itineraries form the centrepiece of the launch, tapping into strong Australian demand for premium leisure travel to the continent.

Under the structure, travellers fly the first and last sector between Australia and select Asian gateway cities in Economy Class on partner airlines before continuing onward in Oman Air Business Class via Muscat.

Participating partners for the Australia–Asia sectors include Qantas, Malaysia Airlines, Finnair, Thai Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Philippine Airlines, and Batik Air Malaysia.

The airline has expanded partner coverage from three carriers to seven, providing agents with more routing flexibility when constructing itineraries.

From Asian gateways including Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Manila, Delhi, and Bengaluru, passengers connect via Muscat in Oman Air Business Class before continuing to the carrier’s European network.

The airline says the product is particularly suited to travellers who would normally consider Premium Economy or those already purchasing higher-end Economy Class fares but seeking a more comfortable long-haul experience.

High-end leisure travellers looking for a value-driven premium option are also expected to be a key market.

Passengers travelling in Business Class on Oman Air sectors will receive standard Business Class benefits, including extra baggage, priority check-in and lounge access, as well as frequent flyer mileage accrual.

Agents can also combine the mixed cabin fares with standard Economy or Business Class fares on a half-roundtrip basis, opening additional pricing opportunities and itinerary flexibility.

Two fare tiers are available within the structure: Comfort and Flex. The Flex option is available for an additional $200 and includes added baggage allowance, free date changes (fare difference may apply) and reduced cancellation or no-show fees.

The mixed cabin fares are filed under Economy Class in GDS and can be identified through fare basis codes containing “MX”.

The airline said the structure also provides multiple Economy booking class options on partner airlines between Australia and Asia, helping agents secure availability during peak travel periods.

Weekend and peak surcharges may apply, and stopovers are permitted, with the first stopover included and additional stopovers available for an additional fee.
