Bookings for the new Ovation of the Seas are running out the door at lightning speed.

Since launching bookings for the new lady on the cruise block, Royal Caribbean says it has been inundated with thousands of reservations, far exceeding expectations.

The doors were opened to bookings on Thursday June 18, and resulted in over 200% more calls than average in a 24-hour period.

Similarly, the website visits jumped up by 70%, with the number of agent enquiries via Espresso soaring by 177%.

“We knew Australians would be excited about Ovation of the Seas, especially since more than 20,000 people pre-registered their interest when we first announced that she was to be home-ported in Australia,” Royal Caribbean International, Australia & South East Asia’s commercial director Sean Treacy said.

“However, the response we’ve seen has exceeded our expectations and is testament to the strength of the demand of the Australian market for our style of cruising, and the newest, largest and most technologically advanced cruise product Australia has ever seen.

“In preparation for the increased level of online activities, our team were on hand in case of any technical issues, and while the increase in calls, Espresso and website traffic certainly pushed capabilities, we are pleased to report that we’ve received positive feedback from our friends and fans.”

To secure a spot on Ovation of the Seas or any of Royal Caribbean International’s 2015/16 season cruises, contact your local travel agent, phone 1800 754 500 or visit www.royalcaribbean.com.au.
