Ovolo Sydney has announced a major renovation of its Woolloomooloo property, with upgrades planned across guest rooms, suites, and food and beverage offerings.
The heritage-listed hotel, set on Finger Wharf, will remain operational at reduced capacity during the works.
General manager James Clark said the renovation would touch every stage of the guest experience.
“We’re incredibly excited to be making some big changes to Ovolo Sydney to enhance our offering, while evolving our unique sense of style,” he said. “This is a major transformation of a heritage-listed property and one of only a handful in Sydney to be located right on the water.”
A centrepiece of the overhaul is a pair of new Rockstar Suites, featuring separate living and dining areas, private balconies overlooking Woolloomooloo Bay, saunas, ice baths, and a separate bedroom with walk-in robe.
Guest rooms will be the first area completed, with new food and beverage offerings, including cocktail spaces and a private cellar, to launch later in the year. Conference and event spaces will also be redesigned.
Clark said existing guest offerings, including dining and mini bar inclusions, would continue during the renovation period. “Each Ovolo property globally is a reflection of its surroundings — its art, its music and its hidden rhythms,” he said. “Ovolo remains a cohesive collection but allows the local soul to shape the story it tells.”
Finger Wharf, built in 1915 during Australia’s wool trade era, is the world’s longest timber-piled wharf and sits alongside the Royal Botanic Garden and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Ovolo Sydney is around a 10-minute walk from the CBD.
