Accor has signed an agreement with Panthers Group for a new five-star Pullman hotel at the Penrith Panthers precinct in Western Sydney.
The upper upscale 153-room Pullman Sydney Penrith hotel, which is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2023, forms part of Panthers Group’s transformation of the Penrith Panthers precinct to create a new business and entertainment destination.
The hotel is adjoined to the new 1,250 square metre Western Sydney Conference Centre (WSCC), which remains on track to open in Q4 2023 too, and will boast a range of onsite facilities, including a restaurant and bar with private dining rooms, along with a groundfloor café.
Pullman Sydney Penrith will service the WSCC, which will host trade shows, exhibitions, seated functions for up to 1,000 people, along with other major events.
Discussing the new hotel was Panthers group CEO, Brian Fletcher, who said the Pullman Sydney Penrith will be a welcome addition to Western Sydney’s tourism offering.
“It is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver world-class facilities to the local community. This development will enhance Penrith’s reputation as a world-class event and tourism destination,” Fletcher said.
The City of Penrith is on the precipice of a significant tourism boom, with additional major infrastructure works underway to further enhance the destination, including the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport just a 30-minute drive away (set to open in 2026).
“We are thrilled to partner with the Panthers Group to deliver Pullman Sydney Penrith,” Accor Pacific CEO, Sarah Derry, said.
“Western Sydney is widely renowned as the engine room of Sydney and we are incredibly proud of our thriving hotels and incredible teams here.
“Pullman Sydney Penrith will offer leisure and business travellers memorable guest experiences and superb facilities and, once open, this hotel will quickly become the leading accommodation choice in Penrith.
“Sport plays a crucial role in Australian culture and, by tourism and sporting organisations working together, our guests have the ability to enjoy incredible experiences and service.”
This new hotel announcement is off the back of Accor’s seven year deal for the naming rights of Accor Stadium at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
Located at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Pullman Sydney Penrith is perfectly positioned at the gateway to Western Sydney. In the City of Penrith, Accor also operates Mercure Penrith, which is located adjacent to the Penrith Panthers precinct.
