Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the expansion of its existing footprint in Australia with the signing of PARKROYAL Monash Melbourne.

Opening in April 2021, the new hotel will be part of M-City Monash, Melbourne’s largest mixed-use development dubbed a ‘mini-city’, which serves as the gateway to Melbourne’s south-east growth corridor.

Each of PARKROYAL Monash Melbourne’s 250 well-appointed rooms and suites will provide a clear connection to local culture, with the fit-out and décor encompassing earthy textures and tones reminiscent of the Australian landscape.

Guests seeking wellness experiences or simply a little ‘R and R’ will be able to enjoy the outdoor swimming pool surrounded by landscaped gardens, as well as a 24-hour fitness centre, managed by Snap Fitness.

The hotel also features a range of meeting and event spaces, including a 375-square-metre ballroom seating up to 210 people.

PARKROYAL Monash Melbourne will offer a community-based living concept, with a natural day-lit restaurant and bar complementing the adjacent meeting space, serving as a desired ‘third place’ for guests in the midst of this new social hub.

The hotel is situated in the heart of one of Melbourne’s key education, medicine, research and science precincts, and is also within close proximity to Monash University’s Clayton Campus, the Monash Medical Centre and the CSIRO.

As part of the M-City development, owned and developed by the Schiavello Group, PARKROYAL Monash Melbourne guests will also have access to more than 60 retailers and shops, including a cinema, supermarket, dining establishments and specialty stores.

Peter Schiavello, managing director of Schiavello Group, said M-City is set to become one of the most significant new precincts in Victoria.

“This $800 million development is a vibrant miniature city in itself, delivering premium office, residential, retail, entertainment, and hotel accommodation,” he said.

“We are excited to partner with Pan Pacific Hotels Group and are assured that they will bring the right expertise in hospitality with great synergy to the project.”

Pan Pacific CEO Choe Peng Sum said the company was “honoured” to partner with Schiavello Group on the development.

“Currently, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has five properties in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth,” he said.

“We have over 15 years of market knowledge and are committed to delivering operational excellence and commercial success for the hotel.

“We look forward to bringing PARKROYAL’s signature warmth and approachable service to leisure and business travellers in this landmark destination.”
