Park Trek Walking Holidays says it is seeing rising demand for its immersive, nature-based tours despite broader challenges in the Australian economic environment, as more travellers look to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the natural world.
The operator runs fully-guided, small-group, pack-free walking holidays across Tasmania, Victoria, NSW, South Australia and the Northern Territory, with itineraries ranging from three-day breaks to nine-day expeditions.
Options include Tasmania’s Three Capes Track and Bay of Fires, Victoria’s Great Ocean Walk and Grampians, the Snowy Mountains and Sapphire Coast in NSW, South Australia’s Flinders Ranges – including a camel-supported version – and Kakadu, Litchfield and Arnhem Land in the NT.

Park Trek also offers tailored departures for private, charity and corporate groups.

Park Trek owner and managing director Charles Thompson said time in nature was increasingly being viewed as essential rather than indulgent.
“Despite challenges in the Australian economic environment, we are encouraged by growing demand for our immersive nature-based experiences,” Thompson said. “More and more people see the need to disconnect from devices – and reconnect with self, others, and the natural world!
“Time in nature is not a luxury, it’s a necessity – and there’s a growing body of research to support this fact.”
Park Trek holds Advanced Ecotourism accreditation and carries five-star ratings on Google and TripAdvisor, which the company points to as evidence of its commitment to sustainable and respectful travel.
