Oliver Schwartz has taken the helm of Parmelia Hilton Perth as the property’s new general manager.
With 17 years spent in the hotel industry, Schwartz brings operational and commercial experience from luxury properties across Melbourne, London and Beijing.
He most recently worked as hotel manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street and has held senior roles at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill and Hilton Beijing.
Schwartz also worked as director of sales and marketing for The Ampersand and Vintry & Mercer Hotels.
“Parmelia Hilton Perth is an institution. It was the state’s first five-star hotel and holds a special place in the hearts of many Western Australians,” Schwartz said.
“With respect to that legacy, I’m excited to join the team at an exciting time for the business, as we begin to look to the future of Parmelia Hilton Perth and what that looks like.”
Following a $45 million refurbishment in 2021, the hotel’s focus has been on experience-led offerings. The property recently announced a partnership with Margaret River winery Vasse Felix.
“Bringing the Vasse Felix experience to the CBD is an exciting indication as to where the industry is moving, as guest experiences and activations become more important than ever.
“I’m delighted to be joining a team with such a creative focus, and looking forward to driving more experience led offerings as we look to the future,” Schwartz said.
