Pearl Expeditions general manager Mick Fogg is the new chair of Kimberley Marine Tourism Association (KMTA), recognising his leadership, extensive industry knowledge, and longstanding commitment to the sustainable future of the Kimberley.
The appointment sees Fogg helm the body representing more than 30 licensed commercial marine tourism operators across one of Australia’s most ecologically significant coastlines.
The memberships span large expedition cruise vessels to small boutique charters and KMTA serves as a collective voice for an industry that is deeply invested in the sustainable management and long-term future of the Kimberley region.
“I’m excited to take on the chair role at a time when there’s so much happening across the Kimberley,” Fogg said.

“The KMTA has always been an important connector for our industry, and I’m looking forward to building on that – bringing together operators of all sizes and continuing to strengthen the relationships we have with Traditional Owners, DBCA, Tourism Western Australia, and the wider industry community.
“With experience on both large expedition vessels and boutique operations, I understand the different pressures and perspectives operators face, and I think that’s something the KMTA can really reflect.”
As general manager of Pearl Expeditions, Fogg has been instrumental in shaping the expedition company’s operational excellence and its commitment to responsible expedition travel in the Kimberley.
Prior to joining Pearl Expeditions, Fogg held roles with Coral Expeditions, Silversea, Orion and Ponant.
His detailed understanding of both the industry and the region places him in a strong position to lead the KMTA’s engagement with key stakeholders, ensuring a responsible, and collaborative management of marine tourism activities throughout the region.
