If you’ve ever been to Dublin with someone who’s partial to a pint, chances are the idea of a visit to the Guinness Storehouse has been discussed. And for good reason as it has just been named as the world’s leading tourist attraction.

Pipping global icons like Niagara Falls, the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu, the Guinness Storehouse received the accolade at the 2023 World Travel Awards.

The attraction also took out the category for ‘Top Beer Tour Visitor Experience’ for the second year in a row.

“Congratulations to the Guinness Storehouse on being named World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2023, and for the second year in a row, World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience,” chief executive designate, Tourism Ireland, Alice Mansergh, said.

“These are truly significant accolades.

“Compelling things to see and do give overseas visitors more reasons to holiday on the island of Ireland.”

“This is a very special moment for us at the Guinness Storehouse, ” managing director, Diageo Irish Brand Homes, Catherine Toolan, said.

“It means the world to our team to be recognised on a global stage and to bring these awards home to Dublin and the Liberties.”

The Guinness Storehouse tells the story of Ireland’s favourite beer from its humble beginnings in 1759 to global fame today and attracts over one million visitors each year.
