Accor’s Pullman network has achieved its goal of becoming Australia’s largest five star hotel brand as it last week rebranded two resorts in Tropical North Queensland (TNQ).

Pullman Palm Cove and Pullman Port Douglas are the latest additions to the network, bringing Pullman’s portfolio to 10 resorts across Australia.

Just four years after the brand debuted in Australia, Pullman now dominates Australia’s five star hotel market. More properties in the Asia Pacific are also slated to take on the Pullman branding in the “coming months”.

Featuring 126 guest rooms and suites, Pullman Palm Cove also caters for the MICE market with four specialist conference rooms for up to 150 people. Pullman Port Douglas also has conference facilities for up to 220 delegates.

Revealing the changes last week, chief operating officer Accor Pacific Simon McGrath said conferences and incentives were high on the Pullman agenda as it continues to further its grasp in Queensland.

“It is fitting that two such high quality resorts should establish Pullman as Australia’s leading 5-star brand,” he said. “We will be looking to grow the conference and incentive market into TNQ, as well as growing domestic leisure and international business into the region.”

McGrath also highlighted the “great potential” of the Asia market, noting that Pullman’s expanding portfolio in Queensland would help to drive future business to the region.

Pullman’s Australia properties join a global network of over 70 hotels, which is set to grow to 150 properties by 2015.
