Virgin’s ‘Pack Your Passport’ sale
Virgin Australia has launched Economy Lite sale fares to short-haul international destinations including Bali, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu and Queenstown. Their two-day ‘Pack Your Passport’ sale offers discounts of up to 30 per cent on selected return fares.
The sale is running from 14 April-16 April (unless sold out prior) with special fares available for select travel dates between 30 April 2025 and 12 March 2026.
Virgin Australia Executive Libby Minogue said the sale comes at the perfect time to give travellers something to look forward to as the weather gets cooler.

Qantas’ Queensland sale
If you’re concerned about the dollar and would prefer to travel domestically, Qantas has launched a 72-hour Queensland sale in partnership with Tourism & Events Queensland (TEQ) to support the tourism industry following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
The sale is running until 11.59pm (AEST) 16 April unless sold out prior, for travel on selected dates between 19 May-10 December 2025.
With more than 30 routes on offer covering 15 of Queensland’s prime hot spots, this latest domestic sale invites Australians to explore the iconic landmarks and hidden gems of the country’s second largest state.
Qantas Domestic CEO Markus Svensson said the discounted fares offer excellent value for customers looking to visit some of Queensland’s most spectacular destinations.
“Queensland destinations are among the most popular on our network each year, with the state’s stunning coastline and mix of adventure, entertainment and leisure making it a firm favourite for family holidays and long weekend getaways,” he said.
“With travel periods covering the cooler months, it’s the perfect time for Australians to plan a mid-year escape and enjoy warmer temperatures in the north.”
The sale also includes regional destinations like Longreach – the gateway town to outback regional Queensland and home of the Qantas Founders Museum, where visitors can take a behind the scenes look into the history of the national carrier.
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson said the Qantas sale would provide a welcome boost for tourism across the state.
