Qantas Frequent Flyer launches limited-time status offer

Qantas Frequent Flyer has launched a limited-time offer, giving members the opportunity to unlock bonus Status Credits on the ground.

Registered members can earn up to 110 Status Credits, directly linked to the Qantas Points earned across eight categories, from banking and insurance to retail and entertainment.

The bonus Status Credits will help members fast-track their annual status and boost their Lifetime balances before the end of the year.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance said it’s the first time members have been able to earn Status Credits on the ground at this scale.“While flying will always be at the core of the program, this offer is about expanding the ways we recognise our members both in the air and on the ground.

“Whether members are using their points-earning credit card, shopping with favourite retailers or booking a hotel stay, this offer now makes those everyday activities even more rewarding.

“Members are already earning two-thirds of their Qantas Points on the ground, and we expect this will be particularly appealing to our ‘frequent buyers’ who might not fly as often but are very engaged with the program and our hundreds of partners.”

The offer follows a number of initiatives to help members boost their frequent flyer status over the last year. Qantas Frequent Flyer has run several Double Status Credit offers, with a record number signing up for the most recent opportunity in August. Last month, bonus Status Credits were gifted to every active member as a thank you for their loyalty.

Members can unlock Silver status by earning 300 Status Credits or reach Gold with 700 Status Credits. To be eligible, members must register for the offer via the Qantas website by 31 October and earn Qantas Points across the eight earn categories before 31 December 2025.

Founder of The Champagne Mile and Pointify Adele Eliseo said: “Chasing an extra 110 status credits won’t change much for those sitting at Platinum tier or above, but it could be enough to tip someone into Silver or Gold, especially when factoring in Qantas’ recent one-off status credit gift.”

However Eliseo also pointed out: “To access the full 110 status credits, it’s necessary to register spend across eight different categories within a three month window. Unless you’re sitting right on a status threshold, this is a tough ask in the timeframe, and the effort may outweigh the value.”

Key offer details

20 Status Credits will be awarded for every 1,000 Qantas Points earned in the Cards & Banking, Utilities & Services and Insurance categories.
10 Status Credits will be awarded for every 1,000 Qantas Points earned in the Hotels & Travel, Fuel & Car, Food & Wine, Retail & Shopping and Leisure & Entertainment categories.
Members can only earn Status Credits from each category once – unlocking a maximum of 110 Status Credits in total through the offer.
