Qantas has proved itself extremely fashion-forward when it comes to it’s uniforms – and has now extended that courtesy to dress-ups!
But to our dismay, the costumes are a little too small for adults.
The extremely adorable range of costumes for ages three to eight aims to inspire young future Qantas employees to aim for the skies – literally.
The mini uniforms for mini Qantas crew are the first in a range of new initiatives being developed for the Joey Club, the program recognising Qantas’ youngest customers – some of which have been signed up as Qantas Frequent Flyers since birth.
Qantas Chief Customer Officer Olivia Wirth said Qantas hoped to encourage a passion for travel from an early age.
“We hope the new dress-up range will allow children to let their imagination fly and embrace the magic of travel,” she said.
“Many of our pilots and cabin crew chose careers in aviation after their first flight with Qantas, so we want to find ways to create memorable experiences and inspire the future generation of Qantas customers and employees.”
So what do these elusive costumes look like?
The unisex pilot uniform costume comes with a smart white shirt, and matching navy tie, pants and a jacket with gold captain stripes on it. Seriously cuter than the regular pilots uniform. Probably with a cuter pilot wearing it too.
Did we mention it also comes with a specialised Qantas hat? featuring Golden Wattle embroidery and a gold Qantas kangaroo.
There’s also different boys and girls cabin crew uniforms, both reaching new levels of adorable (not that it can beat the above photo).
The girls costume is made up of a navy blue dress complimented by the famous Qantas red and bright fuchsia detailing – plus a seperate fuchsia scarf and belt.
Just look how grown up this little muffin looks in her big girl costume:
The boys cabin crew costume has similar pants and shirt to the captains uniform, but includes a navy vest and a teenie navy tie with red detailing.
So smart. So handsome.
Qantas Creative Director of Fashion, Martin Grant said he was pleased to see his Qantas designs being turned into travel inspiration for young flyers.
“The Qantas crew take great pride in wearing their uniform, so I’m thrilled to see a version created for children to help them dream of spreading their wings and taking to the skies,” he said.
Other introductions to the Joey Club program include kids inflight kits complete with an Etch A Sketch and Matilda the Kangaroo socks – plus a Qantas Joey Club novelty passport and larger investment in kids inflight entertainment channels.
But for now, the outfits are already available for pre-order in Australia (just in time for Halloween and Christmas) on the Qantas Shop, so what are you waiting for?
