Qatar Airways is celebrating 15 years of service in Australia with a special menu for those on the pointy end of the plane that features an array of Australia’s finest native flavours.

The new menu, available now until 15 December 2024 for Business Class and First Class (Sydney and Perth), includes distinct native flavours, featuring the best fresh, local ingredients sourced from sustainable suppliers across the country, celebrating Australia’s diverse natural environment.

From a rich, raisin-like taste of South Australian bush tomato, to warm spicy notes from Tasmanian mountain pepper, travellers can look forward to a culinary journey that pays homage to Australia’s culinary milieu onboard Qatar Airways.

Noteworthy highlights of the new menu include the apple cream cake, complemented by a New South Wales strawberry gum compote with sticky caramel and vanilla crème fraîche. For entree, passengers can enjoy the grilled Moreton Bay prawn and seared tuna accompanied by a Thai salad paired with a flavourful Queensland finger lime chilli dressing.

“For 15 years, Qatar Airways has proudly connected Australia to the world with unmatched service and luxury – from spacious cabins, award-winning onboard services to destination-inspired cuisines,” Qatar Airways senior VP of product development and design Xia Cai said.

“To mark such a key milestone in our Australian operations, this special menu is carefully curated to reflect the Australian heritage by incorporating native flavours into our award-winning business class menu offerings.”

“Guests can look forward to sampling some of Australia’s unique native flavours while enjoying world-class hospitality onboard Qatar Airways. We know Australians are passionate about food and this celebratory menu is testament to Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing the best onboard experience for our passengers and continued quest for service excellence.”

Qatar Airways achieved the ‘World’s Best Business Class’ for the eleventh time in 2024, in addition to being awarded ‘World’s Best Airline’ for a record-breaking eighth time in 2024. The airline continues to be synonymous with excellence, taking home, ‘World’s Best Business Class Lounge’, and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’. Qatar Airways currently flies to over 170 destinations worldwide, via one seamless connection through Hamad International Airport, the ‘World’s Best Airport’, as voted by Skytrax in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
