Quark Expeditions has unveiled its Antarctica by Helicopter: Icebergs, Mountains, and Remote Lands itinerary for travellers to experience the continent like never before.
The groundbreaking, all-inclusive itinerary harnesses the advanced capabilities of the Ultramarine and its twin-engine helicopters to access the rarely visited regions of the Antarctic Peninsula. Over the course of 12 days, guests experience aerial views of the continent through a minimum of two helicopter flightseeing excursions and one helicopter landing, all included in the cost of expedition.
During the adventure, guests also explore the continent through zodiac rides and land excursions. While onboard, they will also attend briefings and lectures led by experts in glaciology, penguinology, marine biology, and more, all while enjoying complimentary Wi-Fi and bar service.
“The scale and beauty of the Antarctic landscape from 5,000 feet is unparalleled,” said Steve Fisher, one of Quark Expeditions’ seasoned helicopter pilots.
“Our guests often feel a profound sense of tranquility as they view this rare and remote land from the sky and witness something very few in the world will ever see. It has been my privilege to take guests in safety to the far reaches of the world and I look forward to this next chapter of exploration.”
Quark Expeditions guests will immerse themselves in the less frequented eastern side of the peninsula, one that few have witnessed from all vantage points. They will also have the opportunity to see magnificent tabular icebergs broken off from some of the largest ice shelves in Antarctica, visit Adelie penguin colonies on Brown Bluff, Devil Island, or Paulet Island, and search for wildlife, including whales and Emperor Penguins.
“Our commitment to polar exploration drives us to continually offer unparalleled adventures that are only possible with Quark Expeditions,” senior director of product innovation, Cathy Lawton, said. “The advanced technology of our equipment, combined with our polar-first expedition team, brings this new itinerary to life, unlocking the secrets of the world’s last great wilderness and enabling unprecedented exploration for our guests into the depths of the Antarctic.”
The Antarctica by Helicopter adventure is available as two exclusive itineraries departing from Bueno Aires on 27 November and 7 December 2025. As part of this itinerary, guests have the opportunity to visit other extraordinary locations including Deception Island, James Ross Island, and Livingston Island.
