Radisson Hotel Group has appointed Reinout Engel as general manager to lead the launch of Australasia’s first Radisson RED, set to debut in Auckland.
Reinout brings over 20 years of hospitality experience, including 13 years with Radisson Hotel Group, and has successfully led two pre-opening teams prior to Radisson RED Auckland and has extensive experience managing leased properties, combining operational expertise with strategic insight. With a bold vision and a proven track record in building high-performing teams, Reinout is spearheading the hotel’s dynamic debut in Auckland’s art precinct. Leading the charge in shaping the hotel’s vibrant presence are the newly appointed Sales & Marketing team:
- Vidhya Raithatha – director of marketing, brings over 13 years of hospitality and travel experience, including leadership roles in luxury hotels in Portugal and a decade shaping New Zealand’s luxury hotel landscape. Combining hotel marketing expertise with hands-on pre-opening experience, Vidhya is poised to bring the bold, vibrant Radisson RED brand to life.
- Aish Rangarajan – director of sales, brings extensive experience in travel, tourism, and hotel sales across New Zealand, combining deep industry knowledge with track record of driving sales and revenue growth and building lasting client relationships.

- Nileshni Chand – financial controller with over 22 years of experience in hotel finance across Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia, Nileshni brings a proven track record of financial leadership and strategic insight to the team.
- Parijata Moeava – people & culture manager Parijata has more than 13 years of experience in hospitality, including four years within Radisson Hotel Group in Fiji focusing on People & Culture and training. Her passion for nurturing talent and fostering a positive workplace culture strengthens the team’s foundation.
- Asanka Fernando – rooms division manager Asanka brings over 25 years of hotel industry experience in Sri Lanka, complemented by 2.5 years within Radisson Hotel Group. His extensive operational knowledge and dedication to exceptional guest experiences make him a key driver of the hotel’s standards.
With the full senior management team now on board, Radisson RED Auckland is putting the final touches in place as it prepares to open soon.
