President and CEO Björn Benderx said:

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jürgen Witte as our new Chief Product Officer.

“Jürgen has an impressive record in product development, having led successful product launches and driven product strategies in leading companies in the industry.

“His in-depth knowledge, ability to identify market opportunities and deliver products that meet customer needs will be key to help drive the growth of Rail Europe in the years to come and bring more people onto rail.”

Jürgen Witte joined Rail Europe in November 2022 as chief of staff, where he was in charge of commercial performance, business intelligence and cross-departmental projects.

Prior to this, Jürgen spent five years at Deutsche Bahn, where he was head of Shared Mobility Car. He also worked for some of the biggest players of the travel and transport industry in Europe including Travelport, Ebookers, TUI and Thomas Cook, in C-level roles.

Jürgen Witte said:

“I am honoured to take this new position as Chief Product Officer and join the product team at this exciting time of Rail Europe’s history.

“My personal mission will be to make train travel easier and more accessible for all our customers by further developing our portfolio of offers.

“With my passion and my experience in leading cross-functional teams, I am very much looking forward to driving structural innovation within the company and cater to the needs of rail travellers.”

Jürgen’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be based in Rail Europe’s headquarters in Paris.
