Rail Europe has expanded its portfolio of European rail products with the addition of European Sleeper services, further strengthening its cross-border offering and responding to growing demand for overnight rail travel.

The integration gives travel sellers worldwide access to new overnight routes connecting key European cities including Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels and Prague, as well as the recently launched Paris-Berlin service, with further expansion planned, including routes such as Brussels-Milan later this year.

The addition of European Sleeper complements Rail Europe’s existing night train portfolio, broadening the range of overnight options available on its platform and enabling partners to expand their offering in response to growing demand for cross-border rail itineraries.

Demand for night train travel continues to grow across Europe and is showing sustained momentum across the market.

Recent industry data highlights a significant increase in passenger volumes on overnight services in recent years. In France, for example, night train passenger numbers grew by 26 per cent between 2023 and 2024, according to data from the French Transport Regulatory Authority (ART), surpassing one million passengers in a single year for the first time in decades.

This trend has continued into 2025, with operators expanding routes and capacity to respond to sustained demand – a pattern also reflected across Rail Europe’s platform, driven by both international travellers and growing interest in more flexible, cross-border travel experiences.

At the same time, strong demand for sleeper services continues to outpace available capacity in many cases, highlighting the opportunity for new operators to expand the European night train network.

“European Sleeper brings an exciting new dimension to our platform, expanding the range of overnight travel options available to our global partners,” Rail Europe CEO Bjorn Bender said.

“As demand for cross-border rail continues to grow, particularly among international travellers, this integration allows us to offer greater choice and flexibility, while supporting the ongoing development of the European night train network.”

Through this integration, Rail Europe further strengthens its role as a global distribution platform for European rail content, creating new commercial opportunities for travel sellers looking to expand their offering across Europe.

European Sleeper services are available via Rail Europe’s platform and API, enabling partners to seamlessly integrate overnight rail options into their product offering.
